My pups go crazy for peanut butter, so I came up with a recipe of my own that would be easy to make and satisfy their obsession.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 3 tablespoons almond milk
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (My secret ingredient)
  • Cookie sheet
  • Mixing bowls
  • fork

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Combine dry ingredients-pancake or whole wheat flour and quick oats.
  • Microwave peanut butter in a glass or microwave safe bowl and add to the dry ingredients. (The mixture will be crumbly)
  • Blend milk, egg, and maple syrup and add to the dry ingredients and peanut butter.
  • Knead the dough until it is thoroughly mixed. If it seems sticky, add some whole wheat flour until it becomes dough-like.
  • Chill the dough for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • Use a spoon to create 1” balls of dough and drop onto the cookie sheet.
  • Use a fork to cross hatch the top of each treat and place the oven until golden brown–at least 20 minutes.
  • Cool and share with your canine bestie!
