Hacks for the Holidays #8

holiday hack 8

Kris Pringle Cookie Tins!

This is a super easy (and super fun) way to wrap up a gift in an ingenious and inexpensive way. Forget boring boxes and the very ho-hum holiday stockings hung by the chimney with care!

This one is my favorite because I have permission to eat potato chips to empty the Pringle’s cans!

You will need

  • Pringle’s potato chip cans
  • Wrapping paper or contact paper
  • Glitter
  • Glue
  • Cookies or candies, or anything that will stack easily in the can

Take an empty Pringle’s can, rinse and wipe it out thoroughly. Next wrap the exterior of the can with colorful wrapping paper trimmed to fit (7.5″ by 8.25″). I think the sky’s the limit to decorate the cans—pom poms, buttons, glitter, ribbon, etc. I like to add a special touch by tying in an inexpensive tree ornament too! Have the kids bake simple drop or thumbprint cookies first, and while they cool decorate the tins for grandma, teachers or coaches as a special holiday treat! Once the cookies are good to go, carefully stack them in the cans, reseal the lids, and you’re done!
